Cheerleading

St Josephs Storm to Bradford Title!

Primary school squads opened the show. All the primary schools had practiced hard in preparation for the festival and they didn’t disappoint. Performances from Marshfield Primary, Alllerton Primary, St Anthony’s Catholic Primary, Lidget Green Primary, and Eldwick Primary school were very enjoyable to watch with smiles, jumps and foot tapping beats but it was Reevy Hill Primary School who stole the show winning with their chant and cheer to poison by Nicole Scherzinger. They were “so enjoyable to watch with great energy and smiles” Robyn Morrison – Panache Cheerleading School.

The secondary schools were just as entertaining.  The winners and the runners up were to progress to the West Yorkshire Youth Games which made the atmosphere electric. Energy, timing and tumbling were to a very high standard. Some performances were choreographed by the students themselves and were also impressive routines.

When the performances had finished there were two teams that the judges just could not separate. Buttershaw and Appleton All-Stars scored 89 points and were joint second place. It was decided that they should dance off to earn the right to compete in the West Yorkshire Youth Games.  Both performances were energetic and technically complex routines, full of smiles and with excellent jumps, but it was Appleton All-Stars who had the edge with a very tight performance.

In first place St Joseph’s who had “great energy and facials, lovely jumps and formations” Emma Wind – Hot Ice Dance Academy

When presenting the winning awards Robyn Morrison from Panache Cheerleading School surprised the winners by inviting them to perform at the beginning of a Bradford Bulls Superleague game.
