School Games Launched

The Government is launching a brand new annual sports competition called the School Games.

Run by the Youth Sport Trust, it will start at the level of individual schools and then work up through district, county and city levels to a national final. The Olympic Park, including the Olympic Stadium, will play host, to the first national finals next May.

Funding for the School Games will come from Sport England (both lottery and grant-funding), the Department for Education and the Department of Health.

We also believe this is an important opportunity to help the least active become more active leading to significant improvements in children and young people’s health outcomes. The attached prospectus provides more details, including how your school can get involved.
